2017 Winter Indoor Futsal
Registration CLOSED. Please contact info@abscSoccer as a few roster spots may open up prior to the season. Futsal season is January 7 to March 8.
Our Futsal Program is designed to keep players active between seasons while working on foot skills and game decision making skills. Kid-directed, no coaches or coaching. 30 min ABSC trainer led practice, followed by 20 min half game refereed by trainers.
Cost: $140 with early bird discount (late fees apply Dec 1)
Season: Jan 7 to Mar 5 Saturdays and/or Sundays (8 weeks; no game President’s weekend Feb 18/19) with optional outdoor skills clinics once a week (day/time TBD)
Deadline: Dec 12 registration closes (again, late fees apply Dec 1)
Teams: Under-6 co-ed; Under-7 to Under-19, boys and girls; 6-8 players; required Team Parent for communications (no coaches/coaching)
Format: 5 v 5 with 30-min pregame warm-up/practice run by ABSC trainers, followed by game of 20-min halves refereed by trainers. Again, no coaching, games are kid-directed to improve game decision making skills (2009-2011 teams can have a parent to help with subbing, if needed). No weekday practice. Optional outdoor skills clinics offered (likely MWF/time TBD).
Team Formation: Our Futsal Program is team-based. To organize a team, please ask friends, classmates and/or your current teammates to come up with a roster of 6-8 players and a team name. Each player will then register/pay individually, requesting the team by name. Players without a pre-organized team are encouraged to register. ABSC will add them to teams needing players, but placement is based on roster availability.
Team Parent: Each team must have one adult to sign up (free) as ’Team Parent ’ who will be asked to provide the team name and enter the roster of expected players.

Referee Training - Aug 27/28
Serving as a Grade-8 referee is an excellent way for adults and teens to increase their knowledge of the game, step onto their familiar field in a new capacity and earn money. In addition, teens can get work experience and be role models for younger kids.
Become a referee in this entry-level Grade-8 referee certification course or take a refresher course to get ready for the fall season. Here are the two FREE courses coming up.
Aug. 27 9 AM – 12 PM REFRESHER CLASS
9 AM – 4:30 PM GRADE 8 CERTIFICATION CLASS
Aug. 28 9 AM – 4:30 PM GRADE 8 CERTIFICATION CLASS
Location: Blue Barn 777 Harrison Street, Berkeley
Please sign up in Sportability ASAP to hold your spot in class.
Thank you for supporting youth soccer!
